The great Buddhist Yogi Shantideva presented inspirational teachings on how to deal with difficult people using the practice of Exchanging Self with Others. These are priceless wisdom meditations for enjoying a happy life with others.
Instead of only thinking about our own happiness we can train in meditation to imagine being in other people’s shoes. We will see that they are actually no different from us; they have the same wishes as we do — they want to be happy and free from suffering.
Spending quiet moments in this meditation enables us to understand others’ position better, creating new energy in our mind to respond differently to challenging relationships. With practice we will realize that their happiness is important, too, and we will feel connected to them. Our relationship will naturally improve in time.
Drop in to any or all classes in this course. Perfect for beginners or those with meditation experience.
Class Fee $10
Each class begins with a guided breathing meditation and brief prayers, and culminates with a second meditation based upon the evening’s topic. Perfect for beginners or those with meditation experience. Open to everyone.
