Great Mother Retreat

The function of the Great Mother Prajnaparamita is to bestow the attainments of the Perfection of Wisdom and to destroy maras – living beings’ obstacles to spiritual realizations. “If we are to attain temporary happiness while we remain in samsara, and if we are to progress unimpeded towards the ultimate happiness of liberation and enlightenment, we need a special method for averting and overcoming hindrances in general, and the four maras in particular.” – from New Heart of Wisdom by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche

This short guided meditation retreat is suitable for everyone. We’ll use the sadhana entitled The Great Mother. This prayer includes recitation of the Essence of Wisdom sutra, or Heart Sutra as it is commonly known.

Everyone is welcome to participate in this retreat – for the whole retreat, or for individual sessions. All sessions are with our Resident Teacher, Kadam Keli.
